DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next volunteer workday in Rotoehu Forest!\n📍 Meeting Point: Corner of Pukehangi and Rotoehu Roads\n🕘 Time: 9:00 am start \n🔨 What We’ll Be Doing\n✅ Check remaining bait stations and remove any leftover bait \n📝 Collect and remove rat tracking cards for monitoring results \nWhy tracking cards matter: They show rat activity after baiting so we know whether our poison-op was effective and where to focus next. \nWhy now: We are following best practice for kōkako management by monitoring rats at the start of November (just in time for the start of breeding season). \nWhy removing leftover bait matters: Small amounts left behind can cause sub-lethal doses\, leading to a population of rats that are avoidant of bait stations and making them harder to control in the future- so this tidy-up is important. \n⚠️ Important Safety Note\nRatAbate as well as the lure for the rat tracking tunnels contains peanut products. DESCRIPTION:Meet at the junction of Rotoehu and Pukehangi Roads at 9am.  We will spend 3 to 4 hours upgrading the marking of bait station lines in the Main Block. \nThanks to the Rotoehu-based Kaingaroa Timberlands’ standby fire crew\, most of the lines in the Main Block have been cleared.  A huge thanks to the crew\, who put in 424 hours over January and February. \nIf you are able to attend the workday on Sunday 28 March\, please let us know \nWe will supply tea\, coffee\, nibbles and equipment. \nPlease bring sturdy footwear\, weatherproof clothing\, day pack\, water bottle\, snack food\, thermos of hot water. \nAll workdays this year are sponsored by Kokako Organic Coffee
